Sid Note:  I have used Boats Collins' POLARIS TARTAN background in THIS PAGE

From Boats' website:     "History of this Polaris Tartan; Designed for the Officers and men of the American Submarine base at Holy Loch, Scotland - making the Polaris submarine the first ship in history to have its own tartan. The idea came from Captain Walter F Schlech, Commander of the submarine squadron, SubRon 14, aboard the USS Proteus AS19."

USS G.W. Carver SSBN 656 (B).

I was on the Carver during new const. and commissioning June 15 1966. Stayed until Oct. 1968.  On the Blue crew we had two father and son combinations:
COB ETCS (SS) R.R. Kuhn Father
MM1 (SS) R.R. Kuhn Jr.  Son - later made Chief SKC(SS)
H. Linster Father
YNSA M.L. Linster  Son - later made YN3(SS)
I think that is hard to beat. That was my first boomer and I really liked my tour on it. We had an outstanding full 4 striper for Captain, R.D. Donavan, and an outstanding crew too.
